Teacher Gift Ideas /teacher-gift-ideas/ /teacher-gift-ideas/#respond Sun, 09 Nov 2025 11:13:03 +0000 /?p=57287 Our teachers have worked hard again this year. We think they ALL deserve a medal. Lots of teachers are also parents so have not only spent the year begging 30 kids to be quiet but then have come home to beg their own child to be quiet. We think teacher gifts are a really special way to show your appreciation for all that hard work. They don’t have to cost a lot of money – it’s definitely the thought that counts. Here’s a range of teacher gift ideas we’ve put together. Some are inexpensive but take some time to make from home, and some are from our favourite stores for those who are time poor or don’t have a crafty bone in their body (me)!

We have also included some local 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ businesses so you can buy a great teacher gift while also supporting a small business based right here in South Australia!

88% of teachers want THIS gift 👀

A recent study of 140+ Aussie teachers revealed that 88% would prefer one gift from the class over individual gifts. If that sounds like a headache to organise, don’t worry! We’ve discovered GroupTogether – they make the whole thing super easy.

Just create a teacher gift collection online, share the link with parents and ta-da! Everyone signs the card and chips in online. Parents don’t see who gave what. You can even let families sign the card without contributing so it’s inclusive for everyone.

Choose from eGift Cards, hampers, flowers or even withdraw the cash. Most parents give the GroupTogether AnyCard which lets the teacher choose from 100+ eGift Cards including Myer, Woolies, Airbnb, Apple, JB HiFi, endota spa & more.

If you come out of Have you Met Charlie without a teacher gift, something ain’t right.

With two 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ stores at Brighton and 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ Arcade and a brand new website, finding something for all of your kids teachers in one place couldn’t be easier.

There’s a huge range of earrings, mugs, stationary, books, Christmas items, candles, jewellery, lanyards, games, puzzles and pretty much everything in between.
You’ll even grab the gift card and wrapping paper while you’re there.

Browse their huge and gorgeous range online at
or pop into 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ Arcade or Brighton Esplanade to shop instore.

Head into Helen’s Mini Worlds in Prospect or check out her website to grab a beautiful terrarium for your teacher this year! You can make it even more special by making it yourself at their Make Your Own Terrarium Station instore. Your kids will love making it and it will truly be a gift made with love.

They also have a great range of lush indoor plants or gifts from other SA businesses – if you aren’t sure, grab a gift voucher!

Teacher Gifts from Haigh’s

If you’ve got a sweet tooth teacher you absolutely cannot go wrong with basically anything from Haigh’s and we love their Christmas gifting range this year. Chocolate baubles and bells, Christmas gift tins full of chocolate speckles or scorched almonds, chocolate Santas and plenty of gift boxes all available online or instore.

Lip Balm Gift Packs from Riverbalms

We are SUCH fans of Riverbalms – they are a local SA business from the Riverland, making natural lip balms in multiple delicious scents. The best part? Their lip balms come in home compostable cardboard tubes or metal tins – so you are supporting a local business AND being kind to the environment!

They have special gift packs, perfect for teachers such as a lip balm with some handmade soap – so lovely!

Personalised LEGO Christmas Bauble

Another very clever and very unique gift from a South Aussie Etsy store
Thank your teacher with a personalised bauble!
You can choose a mug, laptop, book or trophy accessory or enter details of a specific accessory in the personalisation section eg guitar for music teacher, paint brush for art teacher etc and add a short message.

If your teacher has a summer holiday planned for when school is over why not get them something useful to take with them?

Zoomlite packing cubes come in a range of sizes and colours and will make packing for that trip a breeze. We’ve used these numerous times and are always amazed with how much extra room you can get in a suitcase when you use them.
Prices start from under $20, but we love this starter bundle currently on sale for $54.

The Best Things to do with Toddlers in 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ /toddlers-in-adelaide/ /toddlers-in-adelaide/#comments Fri, 16 Aug 2024 02:28:36 +0000 https://kidsinadelaide.wpengine.com/?p=7684 Toddlers are busy, toddlers are fun, when they throw a tantrum you’ll just want to run! Toddlers can be hard work, but can also be SO MUCH fun. Give them the right space and it’s so entertaining (and also very important) to just let them free and watch them learn, experience, climb, run, fall, work out and try again. Finding that safe space can be tricky though and a fully fenced playground, shallow spot for a splash on a hot day, a cafe with a great play corner or a venue that caters for toddler needs is like finding gold in them thar hills. Here’s our top 10 ways to keep your toddlers happy, entertained and having fun in 91¹û¶³´«Ã½

Visit one of our favourite toddler friendly playgrounds

Fully fenced, soft fall areas, sand and water play, shady, toddler suitable equipment. When it comes to toddlers not all playgrounds are created equal so we’ve come up with a list of our top picks for toddler playgrounds in 91¹û¶³´«Ã½.

Pumpkin Carving for Halloween /pumpkin-carving-for-halloween/ /pumpkin-carving-for-halloween/#respond Thu, 15 Oct 2020 11:22:56 +0000 /?p=55446 Halloween – you either love it or loathe it! But there’s no denying it’s growing in popularity every year in Australia. With so much marketing in the shops these days Mr 4 has been so inquisitive about what it is, but mainly how he to can get candy (thanks YouTube). So I decided this would be the year we go all out with Halloween celebrations and no better way to get in the spirit than with some pumpkin carving!

Firstly, a few disclaimers – There is a lot of adult assistance required so it’s something you will need to do together. Also it’s way messier than it looks so prepared to get dirty. Don’t be fooled by the YouTube clips that claim they just scoop the centre out with a spoon – we fast learnt this is NOT reality! Be prepared to be elbow deep in pumpkin seeds! Also pumpkins only last a few days once cut so don’t cut too early if you want it to still be around on the the 31st.

First step is to draw up your pumpkin with the face you’d like to create. We spent some time googling different images before settling on one. Also keep in mind cutting the pumpkin is quite difficult so you want a face that is forgiving with miss cuts (not too intricate for your first attempt). We used a pen which we found great as it allowed us to wipe off as required.

Once your set with your design the next task is to cut a lid in the top. This proved quite difficult to cut through and is definitely one for the adults to complete. A really sharp knife with some muscle power is required.

When you have the lid off place to the side for the time being and time to clear out the centre of your pumpkin. This is the part your going to get quite messy! we found a spoon helped to scrape around the edges but to pull the centre out required our hands. Mr 4 loved getting dirty through this part, me on the other hand…. not so much! We pulled out as much as we could and placed into a bowl for disposal as we went.

Then onto the face cutting. Again, this is something that the adults should be doing and again quite tough to cut through, although not nearly as hard as the lid. We made many cutting errors as we went but it really added to the final effect so it really doesn’t matter. Once we had cut through pieces we just pushed them out and then used a sharp knife to tidy up the holes and make them look cleaner.

When all the cutting was done it was easy to remove any left over pen with a baby wipe, then added in some tealights placed the lid back on and our newest house mate was complete!

Get Creative Decorating Pot Plants /pot-plant-painting/ /pot-plant-painting/#respond Mon, 21 Sep 2020 04:29:36 +0000 /?p=54203 We love to get messy with paint and finding new things to paint each week, and with the sun out if we can do it outside it’s a winner for us. The best news is little man has taken to Mumma’s plant obsession (can hardly contain my happiness) So with Spring Sprung and Mumma looking for any excuse to head to Bunnings we came home with these cute little pots ready to paint with all sorts of different patterns. I also thought putting a handprint on one as a memory would also be a keeper.

Buying plain pots means there is lots of room for customisation, and they can really take pride in this craft and turn it into a lovely gift or even teacher gift as that time of year is fast approaching! We chose a mix of free hand painting as well as some stencils.

The supplies were really easy to come by and I found including the kids in this process really gives them a sense of creativity and passion. As above we brought some pots from Bunnings, there is such an array to choose from there all different shapes, sizes and prices. We also HAD to buy a Dino pot for the dino obssessed toddler while we were there (pictured which started hot pink but we painted white). We were then off to Cheap as Chips for some stencils, paint brushes and paint, you need to use acrylic or ceramic paint, washable will not stay. Then it was home to put our creative hats on and get messy.

This project will get quite messy and as the paint is not washable we do recommend old clothes or a smock. Also cleaning up straight after before the paint stains.

All in all this project is very cost effective and really enjoyable to do with the kids. There are so many ways to get creative with this project, From sponging , paint brushes, stencils to free hand we had the best time mixing it up and the memory of keeping it on display around the house is such a sentimental reminder of how quickly they grow up!

Cleland Parkrun Bushwalk /cleland-parkrun-bushwalk/ /cleland-parkrun-bushwalk/#respond Tue, 28 Jul 2020 11:47:39 +0000 /?p=52392 Cleland Parkrun Course is tucked away in the stunning 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ Hills just 20 minutes from the CBD, The 5kms of trail path is accessible anytime of the week and is a reminder of just how stunning 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ is. When we stumbled across this little gem we knew we had to share with you as its especially great with kids.

During the walk you can expect to see kangaroos, koalas, rainbow lorikeets and so many other bird species around. You do share the path with bike riders, but they’re all really careful as there’s always a lot of walkers/hikers nearby. The views are spectacular on a clear day, you get a sweeping view of all of 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ from the lookout where you turn around.

Toilets, BBQs and seating are available within the carpark area. The track is so easy to access via Mt Lofty Summit Road and the course commences right near the carpark to the entrance, just follow the signs. There is so much to explore, climb, chase around, hide behind, it is a great way to burn some of that energy off!
