If you are like us, then the first thing you do when you arrive at a small town for a regional retreat is work out the best place for coffee and food. Edithburgh is a small little place, which is part of the charm just quietly, but they are lucky enough to have a fantastic little cafe which is just lovely.

Located in the heart of Edithburgh (you can’t miss it on your morning walk), you can take your pick from a large under cover area, indoor seating or even out on the grass if the weather is nice enough. Full of coastal town charm, the friendly staff will have you covered for a good quality meal at very budget friendly prices. Plenty on the menu too for the kids, so even the fussiest little eaters will be looked after.

We really liked our brunch here, finding it a really relaxing environment to enjoy a good quality meal, with our little mate having a lot of room to explore after he smashed down his breakfast.

Open Wednesday til Sunday, from 9am til 8pm, this will sort of become the one stop shop for your morning coffee and family meals during your Edithburgh stay.

  • We may have just found 91¹û¶³´«Ã½'s most charming, family friendly spot to eat, that caters to both parents and kids. White Picket Coffee House, on the Eastern city fringe, serves up some brilliant kid-friendly menu options in a spacious setting with a choice of indoor tables, enclosed verandah tables, or our favourite, the rear courtyard/ garden setting complete with a sweet little cottage style cubby house! I think the fact that the rear courtyard had every table filled while we were there really shows how much of a winner this place is! The coffee here is top-notch. Each cup is brewed to perfection using quality beans, leaving you with that rich and satisfying taste we all crave. Plus, their breakfast, brunch, and lunch options are to die for! With initiatives like "Pasta Fridays", it's the perfect way to end the week. On top of that, their ready-made meals to collect for dinner or work lunches are a godsend, making busy weekdays a breeze. Parents, you'll be thrilled to know that they've got your little ones covered too. The kids' hot chocolates are made to perfection - just the right temperature to keep those tiny taste buds happy. And speaking of…

  • Green Monkeys is a Portlife Church volunteer run Community Play Café where, for a gold coin donation, you can bring your pre-school age kids along to play on their awesome 2 storey, indoor, netted playground.  Open Mondays and Thursdays during the school term from 9:30am - 11:30am, the Green Monkeys program operates similarly to a playgroup.  They love to support parents in our community by making a safe place to hang out and drink some delicious coffee while your kids play.  Designed to suit children under the age of 6, the playground features two slides, a tunnel, a helicopter cockpit, spinners, punching bags, a swing and more.  A toddler play mat and toys are also available for younger kids.  Parents do need to bring socks for their children to utilise the play equipment, however they have some available for purchase if needed.  Barista made coffee and light snacks are also available for purchase in the cafe at very reasonable prices.   To find out more, please visit their Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/greenmonkeysseaviewOr online here: portlife.org.au/port-adelaide-campus/pages/green-monkeys Mondays & Thursday, 9:30am - 11:30am79 Seacombe Road, Seacombe GardensGold coin donation appreciated.

  • If you like your morning with a side of community, respect and diversity, we have a fantastic little well priced excuse to get you out of the house with your babes and toddlers. Enter The Experience Cafe, Broadview, in 91¹û¶³´«Ã½'s North East. You'll not only find your caffeine and food fix in an extremely inclusive and friendly environment, there is fenced outdoor play for the little kids AND you are supporting young people and refugees to gain valuable work experience. Being a community run, not for profit, as you would expect the prices here are very reasonable and its important to note that the opening hours are limited to Wednesdays through Saturdays 9am to 2pm. The kids menu has great simple little options for $5 or make it a combo with a toasted sandwich and milkshake or juice box for just $10. The highlight for us was the perfect tea pots, good coffee, cute babyccino and delicious unexpected international twist, multicultural jaffle style toasties. You'll also find sweet jaffles like peach cobbler or apple and cinnamon. If jaffles are not your thing there is a huge selection of cakes, donuts, muffins and even a bacon and egg breakfast bun that's…
