Iconically South Australian, you will find affordable, warm, filling and delicious options for all of the family on the massive menu at all four Café de Vili’s locations. We recently popped past with a couple of kids to see what they thought, and they gave the kids menu a double thumbs up. If you are looking for somewhere to refuel any time of the day or night, seven days a week, this is your spot.
We visited the OG Mile End location, however you will also find excellent franchises at Blair Athol, Elizabeth (with a playground and drive thru mind you) and Hillcrest.
The menu is extensive. Sure pies, pasties and sausage rolls are for the win every day of the week, but did you know you can get burgers? Schnitzels? Full breakfasts and Al la Carte meals? Plus they are licenced too.
The sandwich and wraps station almost tempted me, and the cold weather was a monkey on my back, so I ordered a chicken schnitzel with the most delicious and indulgent spicy kransky and tomato topping. I just didn’t know food like this was on the menu here.
The kids menu is fantastic and falls under $12 for a drink, meal (the kids burger and chips was huge) and ice cream? Take our money. We also gave the traditional choccy donut, fancy donut of the month (hello apple, caramel, custard and cream) and a milkshake a run. Honestly the milkshake in it’s large metal cup took me directly back to 1990.
Vili’s offer delivery from their website and also make a fantastic hassle free option to order catering for your next event or celebration – hello no fuss kids parties! It’s would also be amiss of us not to mention the delicious range of take home items like large gourmet quiches or our favourite for an easy dinner, gourmet chicken pie.
We decided the food is not complicated or fancy, it’s simply hearty, large servings and delicious. This is quality and value, and that’s exactly what we love right? Every thing is exceptionally fresh, and the line up was out the door the entire time, moving rapidly and efficiently. Same with the tables, meals were very quick coming out and tables were empty and no sooner full again.
It’s very clear to see that South Australian’s love Vili’s and after visiting, it’s not hard to see why!

Find it at: Ballara St, Mile End Mile End Common is just off Victoria Ave and Bagshaw Way, Mile End. Tucked away just off Sir Donald Bradman Drive, it's a lovely green space with great play equipment for youngsters. With equipment aimed mainly at the over 5s, you will find a large climbing tower with tube side, swings, climbing rope pyramid and in-ground trampolines. There are also plenty of trees and open space to play around on in the common, a single ring half court basketball court, a paved and covered rotunda, a gas bbq and public toilets. The park is not fenced and while there isn't much local traffic, care should be taken that kids don't venture far from the play equipment. A great little West 91ý playground in the inner suburbs.

Our team at Kids in 91ý are passionate about World Donut Day. Nobody hates a donut (especially not kids, or Tim). Possibly the most important food in our South Australian economy, demonstrated regularly when referencing any country town by the quality of the bakery before anything else. Also every bakery lives or dies by its donuts. Case closed. Donuts are King. SO, the first Friday in June is International Donut Day (or doughnut for the purists). Falling slightly behind Christmas and miles ahead of Valentines Day as THE most important holiday of the calendar year, this is a great occasion to celebrate our favourite food and to also give praise to the fabulous makers of these delicious round delights....the bakeries. Our team of 91ý kids (ahem and Tim) have again done the miles last month, eaten the good, the better and the best that we can find this year, so save this post, refer back to it on your weekend drives or prior your playground dates and birthday parties! We are pretty pumped to have significantly changed our lineup this year, including sourdough options, vegan options, gluten free options and even a donut option for your dog! Not kidding. Feel…

My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard……..ok, no it doesn’t, but some of these beauties might! The Kids in 91ý team are partial to a milkshake and we have dropped a list of our favourite 91ý (and beyond) rich, frothy, cold, flavoured dairy milk delights. From the humble traditional milkshake at Cheffy Chelbys in the south, to the best of the Barossa. We found thickshake heaven in the south and fancy schmanc-ey milkshakes in the North.
