Golden Fields Reserve has had an incredible upgrade with the addition of an adventure playground, which joins the existing reserve playground in this 12 hectare reserve (the adventure playground is on the lower level)! This has got to be one of the biggest playground reserves in 91ý with HEAPS of different play areas, including an accessible area and a brand new section with the coolest slide around! (And around and around and around, if you get our drift!)

Highlighted by a massive tower which has to be seen to be believed, this is THE destination playground out north. Kids can climb up a tower on one side and crawl through the tunnel to the other side then go whizzing down the twisty slide. It seriously feels like you are in there forever!

Here is what you will find on offer…

  • Three massive slides
  • Climbing wall
  • Trampolines
  • Flying fox
  • The biggest swings we’ve ever seen

Sand and Water play has also been added in a further addition in 2024, right next door to the new playground!

Off Asgard Drive, Golden Grove. Parking available and toilets on both sides of the reserve.

This is definitely a fantastic playground for climbers with plenty of climbing frames, ladders and nets on offer. Kids needing accessible options are also looked after, with ramp equipment and slides that start on the flat level. You’ll also find a Rage Cage, skate park & BMX Track, so this really is a play space for all ages.

For the Adventure Playground park at the new car park accessed from Asgard Drive.

Goldenfields Reserve Playground

The original Reserve Playground remains and in combination with the new adventure playground, provides facilities for kids of all ages. With the adventure playground aimed at the older kids/teens, the original reserve houses more traditional equipment in a separate area of the reserve.

Check out what you can find on offer in this fabulous facility for families.

  • Barbecue
  • Basketball ring
  • BMX track
  • Dog poopa bags
  • Dogs allowed on lead
  • Drink fountain
  • Exercise equipment
  • Picnic table
  • Rotunda
  • Shade
  • Shade sails
  • Skate park
  • Sports area
  • Toilets
  • Mini Football oval with goal posts
  • Sand and Water Play

For the Reserve Playground use the Southern car park located near the skate park.

Golding Oval Reserve BMX Pump Track /golding-oval-reserve-bmx-pump-track/ /golding-oval-reserve-bmx-pump-track/#respond Mon, 05 Jan 2026 11:57:48 +0000 /?p=208227 Find it at: Pitana Avenue, Para Vista

Golding Oval Reserve BMX Pump Track is one of four new tracks developed and built in 2025/2026 by the City of Salisbury Council. This track officially opened in December of 2025 and our 5 year old and 8 year old KiA kids were excited to check it out as soon as they could. This asphalt track includes humps and berms creating a loop suitable for all ages and experiences. My 5 year old was confident attempting this track so I would ultimately recommend this track would be suitable for children ages 4 and above. Perfect for balance bikes, bikes, BMX;s and scooters. We had an absolute ball and stayed longer than we had actually anticipated. There is one sheltered picnic table for parents to sit and supervise however there is no shade at all on the track itself.

But wait…. there’s more! Golding Oval Reserve is also home to the Ingle Farm little Athletics club so the oval features runnings tracks, jumping and competition courses. There is also a mock roadway ( a little outdated at the moment and needs a freshen up of paint) but our kids still absolutely loved it. Complete with little roadways, round-a-bouts and parking spots. And don’t forget the playground, which is shaded (yay) and consists of swings, slides, money bars and tunnels.

And just when you thought this place had it all…. it also has a fully fenced dog park located on the corner of the reserve. It literally caters for all members of the family (even our four legged friends). Unfortunately, the only thing missing that we would have loved to have seen is toilets.

Carisbrooke Reserve and Playground, Salisbury Park /carisbrooke-reserve-salisbury-park/ /carisbrooke-reserve-salisbury-park/#respond Mon, 24 Nov 2025 09:33:48 +0000 https://kidsinadelaide.wpengine.com/?p=13342 Find it at: Main North Road, Salisbury Park

Don’t you just love those parks with soooooo much open space and beautiful green lawn for the kids to run around on – and even better with hills to roll down? Well that’s what you’ll find at Carisbrooke Park.

A big TICK for me at this playground is the number of swings they have – 10 in total, and some different ones to try out. Usually a playground just has two and the poor kids are stuck waiting for a turn. Did I mentioned we were there on Father’s Day ? There were a few groups enjoying picnics around the place, but it definitely wasn’t too busy. Got multiples? It makes the perfect party park with shady trees, playground for all ages, including a toddler section, sandpit and an exercise/ climbing course.

Toilets on site – another TICK!
Lots of shade – TICK!

There’s a workout/outdoor gym area that I’m sure older kids enjoy playing on just as much as those who use them for it’s intended purpose. All ages are catered for with a wobbly balance beam, main playground area, toddler play area + sand pit with clever pulleys and buckets attached to chains. A highlight is the old old tree trunk for exploring, hiding and playing in. Miss M and her dad loved talking to each other from different sides of the playground with those cool metal sound tubes!

Carisbrooke Park Playground is located alongside The Little Para River Trail, which includes lots of walking and bike trails. The creek is another attraction of this park, but do take care with the kids as it’s not fenced and you can’t see kids in the creek from much of the play area BUT the creek and the road are a fair way from the playground. It really is leafy green and a lovely place to play. As well as plenty of swings and places to sit, there are free electric BBQs, tables, lots of climbable equipment, slides, a clock, spring rockers and more.

Jack Watkins Reserve Playground, Kilburn /jack-watkins-reserve-kilburn/ /jack-watkins-reserve-kilburn/#respond Thu, 18 Sep 2025 07:26:14 +0000 /?p=157592 Find it at: Churchill Road, Kilburn

Jack Watkins Reserve has had a multi million dollar upgrade, and has opened this week, in September 2025. Expect to find an incredibly creative TRAIN THEME here, with a lot of inclusive thought across some elements.

This new upgrade is EPIC and it might just be one of 91ý’s best all round playgrounds for all ages. It’s not only a brilliant play space, but also a fabulous party park, seriously, it has everything.

Here’s what we love:

Facilities galore! With two sets of toilets, multiple water refill stations, BBQs, and more sheltered seating and tables than we’ve ever seen at a park!

It is shady and spacious, with shade sails, gorgeous mature trees, and big open lawns.

The smaller kids will adore the train-themed fun, including train, carriages and ticket booths (perfect for “paying” with bark chip currency, which thank goodness, there is not too much of).

Expect a whopping FOUR slides (two small, one medium and one giant!) There are also inground trampolines, a cute flat merry-go-round, nature play elements (logs, rocks, ropes) and the sweetest little cloud drum to bang away on.

Parents with a bub in tow will love the double swing that accommodates a big person and a little person, and your Nana (or any one less stable on their feet) will love the flat rubber surfacing with even paths, and not too much bark.

There is a full basketball court, netball hoop, handball square, hopscotch, table tennis table (BYO bats & ball), epic pump track, and plenty of exercise equipment.

The location is just off Churchill Road, past the Costco Car park heading North, but our tip, find the back street entrance. Parking is going to be the downfall here. You could always catch the train, as the location is an easy six minute walk from the station. Honestly it’s turning into a bit of an entertainment precinct out this way right? You can find Tada Kids indoor play and also the quirky upside down House Down Under in this same precinct. Feeling hungry? Don’t miss 91ý’s best hot chips (among other things, and yes they are better than Chicken Chef, fight me) from Kennys at the adjacent Churchill Centre.

Some will be relieved, while others might be disappointed to learn, there is no water play here but on the flip side there is a pump track that’s next level so make sure you throw the bikes or scooters in the car.

Tell Bouncer the dog he’s in luck, because there is a ridiculously good enclosed dog park right next door.

The only thing we think its missing? We are suckers for a big flying fox.

Congratulations City of Port 91ý Enfield, so many people are going to enjoy gathering, playing and celebrating here, you have really nailed it.

Cobbler Creek Recreation Park and Playground /cobbler-creek-recreation-park-salisbury/ /cobbler-creek-recreation-park-salisbury/#respond Sun, 20 Jul 2025 00:40:29 +0000 https://kidsinadelaide.wpengine.com/?p=15791 Find it at:

Cobbler Creek Recreation Park is a fabulous recreation park with a large playground and over 17km of fantastic mountain/BMX paths for riders of all abilities. We took the youngsters there recently and they had a ball on the playground as well as riding the junior tracks, with the 4 year old even having a great time on the intermediate track.

The ‘Kites and Kestrels’ playground is found at the end of many of the bike paths. The natural form playspace features multiple ‘raptor-themed birds nest’ climbing structures in the middle of the play area which give a really cool birds eye view from above. There are also large sandpits built to look like birdsnests from above, slides, a flying fox, rockbed, balance frames, swings, toilets, BBQs and more. The playground is well suited to kids of school ages, with a few areas that might be tricky if you bring toddlers.

Parking for the playspace and most bike paths is best accessed from the main entry and car park at the corner of Bridge and Smith Roads, Salisbury East.

Along with the 17km of bike tracks, there are also smaller, bitumen rolling ‘bike park’ for younger kids which was popular. The smooth surface makes it easier to get started on undulations, as the rest of the tracks at Cobbler Creek are all dirt.

For more bike riding locations, paths and BMX spots around 91ý, see our post at Bike Tracks for kids and families in 91ý.

Hamilton Reserve Playground, Vale Park /hamilton-reserve-vale-park/ /hamilton-reserve-vale-park/#respond Sun, 12 Jan 2025 07:35:50 +0000 /?p=157829 Find it at: Mimosa Drive, Vale Park

This beautiful nature playground opened in 2022, built by the talented LCS Landscapes team. Featuring plenty of nature themed equipment for the kids to explore and play, there is also BBQs, toilets, seating, lovely grassed area, drinking fountain and bottle refuelling and a bike path loop that is perfect for the little ones.

We love the hidden clue hunt they have installed here, with a number of coded signs scattered around the playground to decipher. They aren’t particularly easy to find we must say, so this isn’t a 5 minute activity and not really designed for the younger kids. But still we love something different!

The grassed area also includes a maze (which to be fair given its just grass isn’t a huge challenge, but we love it anyway!)
